Samaritan House strives to involve schools and students in learning about poverty and homelessness through empathy-building and community service. We can arrange family and school group volunteering for special times of the week and when parental or school administrator supervision is arranged. We encourage school groups to run drives for essential items that we distribute to clients in need. Schools can also hold fundraisers which help to fund our programs. Where possible, we try to include a tour of our facilities to give contextual information about Samaritan House and our services.
Volunteer age guidelines:
- Youth ages 12-15 can volunteer alongside a parent.
- Youth 16+ can volunteer independently. Some programs accept only adult volunteers. Please inquire.
- Volunteers of any age are welcome to ride along for Mobile Meals deliveries.
