Kids Closet is a fun and vibrant store that provides more than 50,000 items of free children’s clothing each year to our client families. We serve low income kids from new born babies to teens. Kids Closet also provides seasonal needs such as new backpacks and supplies at the start of the school year or a fun new Halloween Costume.
Kids Closet volunteers greet and help our clients to shop for nearly new, or new, clothes, shoes and accessories for their children once a month. Kids Closet also has an exciting new partnership with Help a Mother Out so we can provide once a month diapers to families with babies and toddlers. Volunteers are also required to greet the public and accept and sort donations from the community. If needed, they advise on alternative organisations for donations we can’t accept.
The role requires a friendly, customer service personality, the ability to stand for longer periods of time and to lift up to 30 lbs. Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic or Russian speakers are a plus.
Kids Closet is open from Monday through Friday, 9am -12 and Monday through Wednesday, 1pm – 4pm. Volunteers are assigned to a regularly scheduled 3 hour shift on a weekday. Shifts have up to 4 volunteers. We are currently looking for volunteers to join established shifts on a variety of days.
