That’s why we’ve launched the LIFT (Lifeline to Ignite Financial Transformation) Pilot Program, a groundbreaking supplemental income initiative designed to empower single mothers in San Mateo County to achieve lasting financial stability.
The LIFT Program is a privately funded pilot that provides up to $1,000 per month to low-income, single-mother households. By alleviating the financial burden of juggling multiple jobs, LIFT allows participants to focus on their long-term goals—whether that’s pursuing education or securing better employment. This initiative is not just about providing temporary relief: it’s about equipping families with the tools to build a sustainable future.
San Mateo County, one of the wealthiest regions in the U.S., faces staggering income inequality. Single mothers, many of whom hold two jobs to make ends meet, are disproportionately impacted by this divide. LIFT addresses this gap by supplementing income and providing access to financial coaching, workforce development, and vocational training. Participants will also receive individualized case management to guide them on their journey toward economic mobility.
