As we close out another year, I am filled with gratitude for the unwavering support we’ve received from our community. Together, we have made a profound impact on the lives of those who rely on Samaritan House, and I am incredibly proud of all that we’ve accomplished.
This year, we celebrated a milestone—50 years of client-focused, community-driven work. From our humble beginnings in Dr. Cora Clemons’ home to the vibrant organization we are today, we’ve grown alongside our community. We now serve over 29,000 individuals each year, and our reach continues to expand, thanks to your generosity. Every meal served, every bed provided, and every family supported is a testament to the power of coming together for the common good.
At Samaritan House, we know that even in times of uncertainty, there is one thing we can always shape: our community. This year, we’ve taken bold steps to ensure that we can continue to offer hope and healing to our neighbors. From the renovation of our San Mateo Clinic to the launch of our LIFT program, designed to help single mothers achieve financial stability, we are committed to addressing the root causes of poverty and providing long-term solutions for those in need.
As we look ahead, we are ready to meet whatever challenges come our way; with you by our side, we can make a lasting difference for those facing hunger, homelessness, health issues, and other crises. We are here, and we will always be here, offering help, hope, and a pathway to a brighter future.
As we approach the new year, I invite you to continue to stand with us. Your support is what makes all of this possible. Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate community—one where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for your continued belief in our mission and for being a vital part of our journey.
With gratitude and hope,
Laura Bent CEO, Samaritan House
