Samaritan House is thrilled to be one of 15 nonprofits selected to pitch a project at the 2015 PayPal Opportunity Hack event, happening today and tomorrow in San Jose, CA. Opportunity Hack is a global hackathon hosted by PayPal, which focuses on creating technology solutions for nonprofits.
The nonprofits that were selected have three minutes to explain their mission and the challenges they are facing to the judges and hackers. Then hackers, or volunteers, get to decide which project they want to work on throughout the hackathon. Nonprofits are competing for prizes and free technology/business consulting.
The event brings PayPal together with nonprofits who need help and technology experts who want to help, to build and deliver solutions that will make an impact their community.
