Mary is a seasoned development and communications professional with more than 13 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She has worked for several well-known Bay Area agencies, including: Mercy Housing California, Rubicon Programs, The Commonwealth Club of California and Glide Foundation. Mary has extensive experience in strategic partnership development with individuals, corporations and foundations, building development infrastructure, as well as Board development. Mary is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Golden Gate Chapter (AFP-GGC), Development Executives Roundtable (DER) and the Silicon Valley Planned Giving Council (SVPGC). Previously, she served as an Advisory Board member for Oasis for Girls in San Francisco, the Chair and Co-Chair of the AFP-GGC Mentor Program, an Advisory Board Member of AFP’s Multicultural Alliance Program and a Board member of the Friends of Sharon Art Studio. Mary lives in San Francisco with her husband Tod Thorpe and her 18 year old super-kitty Bruiser.
